Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Account info. Your name, email, date of birth, training details, the profile details you choose to add (such as hometown, school, work or Instagram) and your profile photos.
- Gender. Your gender and, if you set one, your gender preference for discovery. We use these to filter who appears in your feed.
- Phone number. Only if you verify your phone in Settings.
- Contacts. Only if you choose to find friends from your contacts. Your phone turns each number into a scrambled code on your device, and only those codes reach us. We compare them with Forge members and discard them immediately.
- Precise location. Used to show athletes, workouts and races near you and to calculate distance between members. You control it in iOS Settings. We also store the map coordinates of your profile city until you change it or delete your account.
- Photos and videos. Profile photos, photos you send in chat and your verification photo.
- Content you create. Posts, workouts, messages, prompt answers and reports.
- Connected apps. If you link Strava, the activity data you authorize (pace, mileage, routes). You can disconnect at any time.
- Waitlist. If you join the waitlist on this website, your name, email, age and city, used to assign your bib number and contact you about launch. We also note how you found us (the link or site you came from, and whose invite you used), and your device type (for example iPhone or Android, and whether you opened it inside an app like Instagram).
- Website visits. On this website we count visits and a few actions (starting the form, sharing your bib or link) using a random ID stored in your browser. It isn't linked to your name unless you join the waitlist, and it never leaves Forge.
- Account identifiers. A user ID we generate to run your account.
What we don't collect
Forge has no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software. The website counts described above are our own and stay with us. We don't track you across other apps or websites, build advertising profiles or sell your data.
How we use it
- To match you with athletes, workouts and races near you.
- To verify members and keep the community safe.
- To review reports and act on content or accounts that break our rules.
- To send the notifications and emails you've signed up for.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run Forge, under contract and only as needed:
- Supabase. Database and file hosting.
- Resend. Email delivery.
- Strava. Only if you connect it, and only the data you authorize.
- Apple and Google. If you sign in with Apple or Google.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect our members' safety.
Your controls
- Delete your account in Profile → Settings → Delete account. Your profile, photos, messages and related data are removed within 30 days.
- Export or correct your data by emailing us.
- Turn off location, contacts, photos or notifications in iOS Settings without deleting your account.
Safety
- Verification photos are used only to confirm you're a real person. They're never shown on your profile or to other members.
- Blocked members can't see your profile or contact you, in either direction.
- We never publish your address or share your routes.
Retention and security
We keep your data while your account is active. Verification photos are kept so we can re-check them if a safety issue comes up, and are deleted with your account. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Children
Forge is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we delete any such account we find.
Changes
If we materially change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and its date and tell you in the app.
